Welcome folks from the Hilltowns!
Welcome folks from the Hilltowns and thank you for visiting the website. I grew up on Norwich Hill in Huntington, Massachusetts. I spent all of my school-age years in the Gateway school system. I consider myself lucky to have done so. I continue to visit the area frequently as my mother and sisters still live in the area. I am glad they do as it gives me an opportunity to visit some long time friends and wander around my old stomping grounds.
I now live in Westmoreland, New Hampshire. It is a small town about an hour north of the Hilltowns. Its located in between Brattleboro, Vermont, and Keene, New Hampshire, in an area quite similar to the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. My chidren and I frequenty visit a nearby stream to skip stonesa stream very much the same as the one my brothers and I waded, fished and followed up on Norwich Hill. My children go to a small K-8 school with fewer than 200 students. It seems to make sense that I landed here with my family. There are paths in the woods, brilliant night skies, and abundant wildlife. But what my wife and i cherish most is the sense of community and the small town feel, a feeling I grew up knowing and continue to experience in the Hilltowns. This never rang any truer than when I went home for the Alumni Soccer game this past September.
School and work took me away from the Hilltowns but when considering a place to settle with my wife and raise our family, the characteristic feel of the people of the Hilltowns played a key role in our decision.
Thank you again for visiting the website. I hope you will consider sponsoring this fundraising effort for my godson Drew. I will carry your thoughts and prayers for Drew with pride throughout race day on April 15th in Tucson.
Be well and maybe we'll see each other at the next school play, soccer game, or perhaps at Moltenbrays market.
Sincerely,
George (G.F.) Piers '83

How you can help
I am asking people to join my effort by buying a TRI-4-DREW wrist band. My family and friends have donated the cost of the bands so that all the proceeds from every sale will go to Drew.
I hope you'll join me in this cause and thank you.
Sincerely,
George Piers (email me)
